Hey adobe worked!

Ended up getting one more video out on you tube.  I've figured out just enough of the basics inside Adobe to start pushing content.  The cool thing though is I can build my own animations from scratch and the more I use adobe the more tricks I'm learning.  The next video I'm working on I've already made a custom txt animation.  It also means I can make intros and ending sequences and use them between all videos for some level of comformity.  Its really cool.  Anyway, heres the first video I made with it and tomorrow I may have the next with the custom animations and stuffs.

Pushing onward

Lost a lot of momentum recently trying to learn a new program, adobe premiere pro.  It has a lot of cool stuff in it that I've been digesting for a while and I'm excited to use it.  It's very difficult however and I don't intend to put out much new since I want to step back from windows movie maker for something more long term.  Might mean a few days before I put out anything new since I've watched about a dozen tutorials now and my brain passionately objects to learning anything.

Also hearing some people say I need more planning in the videos which I agree.  I'll try to develop more structure in videos as time goes on.

First interview ever

Wooo... took longer than expected but finally got the first interview for our group ever posted up on my friends site.  This first interview is with Robert West, also known as RoboBob creator of Gnomoria.  We talk about their game, one of the newest members of the growing collection of sandbox games available across the net.

Interview? OMG INTERVIEW!?

Haha, well today marks a tremendous day for Game Tirade.  Our first interview ever with a game developer has been sent off to the editor of Eccentric Tirade and will be posted sometime today!  ... or tomorrow

I got in touch with the creator of Gnomoria, Robert West, who tells me a little bit about himself, his game and the people who support him.  I feel I've learned a great deal more than I expected but more than just about the game.  I understand a bit more about what goes into interviews and what I'm trying to accomplish with Game Tirade, I hope to put it all to use.

Besides all that, there's another video for you to check out here

Kind of sick

Manager of my store likes to show how tough they are by coming into work no matter how sick they are.  They use this to tell us if they can tough threw it then absolutely we should be able to as well.  This is usually the case because they tend to get the rest of us sick by coming in sick themselves...  So thats what happened to me.  Bit sick and resting but I managed to make one more video for today.  Its uploading at the time I write this so if you don't see it now you should see it soon.

Anyway, I got to go into work... have fun all

Editing takes forever!

Heylo and welcome again to Game Tirade

Right now and for the next two days the website here https://indiegamestand.com/ has Gnomoria available.  If you haven't bought the game yet or maybe just on the fence about it you can now set your own price.  You can pick the game up for a dollar or offer a bit more since some of the proceeds will be supporting the American Red Cross.

Besides that I've been playing a lot more with the stock editor on my windows Movie Maker.  Its all I have to work with for now but its providing a nice easy curve for me to learn so I'll keep working with it for now.  The 3rd episode of Gnomoria, Merchant Obliterator, is up and ready for viewing, you can find it here.  I think it came out a lot better than most the video's I've been able to submit to date but it is decently a process to clean up the mess that is my videos with editing.  I hope to figure out what I want to do music wise soon.  I figure maybe just turn the Gnomoria custom music a bit higher than trying to figure out what I can or cannot play on youtube without getting smacked with some cease and desist order.

Also for anyone who's a fan of Gnomoria and its creator RoboBob I did a quick questioner with him over an email.  I hope to prepare more questions for him in the near future and do a live interview either via skype or a simple chat IM conversation.  We'll be making the questioner public within the next day or so whenever the editor is ready and provide links to it on the main site.  In the mean time, if there are any questions you would like to see on the next questioner or interview, make sure to let me know with a comment.  I'll have an email available within the next day or so as well which I will provide then.  I can honestly say I learned a lot about him and his project and look forward to sharing that all with you.

I'm also working a little bit on the next game my brother turned me onto called Kenshi.  You may have seen some stuff of it already but I've done my first episode with it and I'll link it here now for you to take a look at.  I'll get into a bit more detail about the game at a later point but for now all I can do is share the first episode of Kenshi, Reckless Endangerment.  see ya next time.

Fashionably late, the Gnomoria series starts.

Heylo and here we are again with Game Tirade

Yesterday I had a little bit of trouble uploading videos and today... I had a little bit MORE trouble uploading video's but it seems to all have been resolved.  I was able to upload all my video's just fine and am working at compiling more.  I did some filming of Kenshi and will have that compiled within the next day or so.  At the moment there's another episode of Gnomoria in the oven and hopefully that comes out alright.  I've taken some time to mess with the windows editor, nothing complicated yet, just inserting text and basic animations and stuff.  You should see the results of all that in the next Gnomoria episode tomorrow.  Anyway, here is yesterdays and todays bits of Gnomoria.

Episode 1: Kickstarting Kicking Kingdom

Episode 2: Terraforming

If anyone reading this knows something on this I could use the help.  I wanted to put an animated Gif into the video for a future bit of content I'm working on but I can't find much help with it.  I read that you can put an AVI file into Windows Media Editor fine but even then I'm not certain that I could put anything with a transparency lair into the video without the transparency coming threw as a white or black block.  I don't know, if you do let me know.

Gnomes in the Kicking Kingdom

Heylo and welcome again to Game Tirade

So finally started a new world in Gnomoria leaving my old kingdom behind.  However we've a new project and a new crew and they will be the pioneers to establish the Kicking Kingdom!  Literally, that's what its called.  You can decide exactly what they're kicking but lets just hope they Kick arse in general.  I hoped to upload a video but today we learned that Youtube has a 15 minute limit for new users.  Some might call this a fail, but... well it is, though I'm a bit smarter now for it.  I'll have to see what I can do about that but will probably just go threw and re edit my videos to abide by this limit.  Look at the bottom of this entry for a link to Gnomoria if you're interested

I hope to have some new stuff in the future too.  While I love the game Gnomoria I also want to explore the game Kenshi some more.  I've played some and its not a game I really want to start again from scratch.  Trust me you'll be much happier seeing some of the cool things you get later in the game rather than watching me run back and forth between towns trying to build up stats heh.  I did record however my first run thew of Kenshi.  I may upload the whole thing but I simply took out a snippet of my favorite part.  You may have already seen it on Eccentric Tirades home page, if not then you might enjoy seeing this if you want to see me suffer.  Also check out their website, link should be at the bottom.

And as for other new content well...  I'm waiting on some concept art ;3

Step one, Collect Gnomes

Heylo and welcome again to Game Tirade

A lot of thoughts going into what I want to do next so I decided to simply share a game with you've I've been playing for a while now.  I've gone and gotten myself horribly addicted to a game called Gnomoria.  For those who've never heard of this gem you might find yourselves able to get involved with a great new up and comer.

Gnomoria is first and last a sandbox game.  You're goal is what you make it out to be, a lot of my early games meant it was just simply to survive the first winter.  You're tasked with a group of nomadic gnomes who'm for whatever reason you find most amusing have trekked out into the middle of no where.  In this slab of nothing you must make something, either an impenetrable fortress, a floating castle, a heaven on earth or a giant something I dare not say in polite company.  Whatever you want your goal to be is the goal of the game, much the same as other games such as the well established Minecraft or Dwarf Fortress.

What I found most impressive about the game was how easy it was to learn.  RoboBob, the creator of the game mentioned Dwarf Fortress as inspiration and there was a very popular graphic associated with the learning curve with Dwarf Fortress.  As you can see by this illustration, prolonged game play can lead to fits of suicide.  Gnomoria at its current stage is a much more inviting game for new players as the GUI and mechanics are easy to grasp.  Granted a lot of things can change in the future of this game but as it is I can play this game for a few hours with my sanity very well in check.

After playing through a few times I felt like I knew most things that there is to know but that can change soon enough.  Not only is the creator consistently and frequenlty updating the game with new and useful content, I'm still learning new things about the game every day.  One feature I was told about just hte other day was that you could invinte new gadgets in the game.  This was a rather interesting way to get players to work for the next tier of items and almost felt like an RTS element.  I'm not complaining at all that I have to lock a gnome away in a small room for weeks on end to invint gears and a way of putting those gears into a box.  That would be the gnomes problem hehe.

If you want to see more of this game make sure to check out the offical alpha trailer, a lets play by the games creator RoboBob is available on Youtube which I'll link below.

I'll be releasing more of my own lets plays in the future with this game and some additonal content about it over the next few weeks.  If you're interested in supporting the game you can learn more about it at their official website and pick yourself up a demo if not purches the full game while its alpha.

Anyway, thats all for now, take care and have fun!

Hello and Welcome to Game Tirade

Yes, I know, what a name.  After being denied several ideas, most of which belong to blogs dating back to 2004 and earlier, I've decided to go with something simple that reflects the group we will be working with!

So what are we doing?  Who are we?  Well, it’s a group created by an old friend from high school who could never give up games, never let them down or desert them.  So, he’s been putting together a compilation of all things gamer and we’re here to make some worthwhile content for it.

There are several pies in the oven right now as far as content goes and we're gona be watching them all and taste testing till we find out what came out the best.  We've got the lets plays, we've got comics, we've got interviews, and we've got adventure games and god knows how they are gona turn out!

Lets start off with a video that me and sero put out not to long ago.

and also, just a little snippet of me insisting that a single player game can be multiplayer
